School Admissions
Kirkstall Valley Primary School is a co-educational primary school. We warmly welcome all families from all religions and cultures. We are a one form entry school so we have places for 210 children between the ages of 4 and 11 years. There is a Foundation Stage Unit for children aged 3+, light and child-friendly classrooms, computer suite, library, hall, playgrounds, wildlife pond area, tyre park and traversing wall, vegetable plot and picnic area. There is a Breakfast Club before school and several local after school clubs, who collect our children from school.
Admission Arrangements to Kirkstall Valley:
Children transfer from Nursery (FS1) into our Reception class (FS2) at age 4 and are joined by children from other settings. Children start school in the September before their fifth birthday. Having a Nursery place does not automatically guarantee a place in school; school places need to be applied for, through the Local Authority.
If you are considering enrolling your child at Kirkstall Valley Primary School, please pop into school or telephone us to arrange an appointment to look around - we'd be delighted to give you the tour! We take pupils from Burley, Kirkstall, Armley, Bramley, Harehills, Roundhay and Headingley.
School Opening Times:
Breakfast Club: 7.30am – 8.45am – children are escorted into class.. A session costs £2.50 and must be booked in advance.
Nursery (FS1): Children are entitled to 15 hours free, flexible care. Children therefore attend 5 sessions from 9am to 12 noon and 12.15 – 3.15. If parents wish for extra hours and we are able to accommodate children, each session of 3 hours costs £15.00.
Reception (FS2) and Years 1-6:
School begins at 8.45am
School closes for lessons at 3.15pm
